Thermostatic Steam Traps
So what is a thermostatic steam trap? A thermostatic trap is a mechanical trap that functions by way of steam temperature change. When the trap reaches steam temperatures the thermostatic element expands and closes the seat in order to keep live steam where it belongs. As the temperature inside the steam trap decreases the thermostatic element contracts and opens coming away from the seat allowing condensate and non-condensable gasses to escape.
Thermostatic steam traps are one of the most versatile traps on the market and can be customized for specific conservation goals. Thermostatic traps can be designed to fail open or closed. They can also include screen protection from dirt and foreign matter. Many of our customers choose a combination of these options.
